Exclusive Real Estate Opportunities On The Nicoya Peninsula, Costa Rica. From Manzanillo To Mal Pais.

The southern tip of the Nicoya Peninsula is fast becoming the most desirable choice for Costa Rica real estate purchase. The reasons are extremely varied and include business investment, retirement, or simply purchasing a piece of heaven because of a love of the surf. Some of us will remember the development of Los Cabos, Baja, California. The development took place over 20 years and was unprecedented. There are several similarities between Los Cabos and the development here on the Peninsula.

The area that hugs the coastline of the Pacific from Manzanillo in the north to Mal Pais in the south seems to have attracted a remarkably cosmopolitan and international mix of people. There is a disproportionately high amount of professionals from the top of their fields whom have chosen to make their homes here. It is a thriving community made up of an eclectic, melting pot of expertise. The net result is the quality of the services and products available here. The yoga is second to none and some of the restaurants are world class. Add to this, its proximity to all continents, especially the USA and the increase of Costa Rican international tourism, adventure tourism and increasingly, eco tourism – and you start to see why this area is becoming a magnet for investment.

A further and special contributing factor to all of this is that Costa Rica is a very stable country. Often referred to as the Switzerland of the Americas, Costa Rica abolished its army in the 1940’s to invest in its people’s education, welfare and environment. Set alongside the more volatile nations of Central and South America, Costa Rica has become increasingly inviting for foreign investors in its land.

The unfortunate events in the Gulf oil disaster has provided new audiences of beach goers and fishing enthusiasts for the Nicoya Peninsula as well….it is only 2 hrs flight from Miami. This also makes Costa Rica an attractive place for real estate purchase.

For such a small country, the variety of activities, terrain and climates you can experience is huge. You can be in the cloud forests in the morning, see volcanoes and then get to the jungle beaches in time to watch the sun set over the Pacific.

A further unique fact about the Nicoya Peninsula is that it is quite isolated. You need to either travel over land and catch the ferry to reach it or catch an internal flight. This has organically given it an exclusivity. You need to make the effort to get here and that has eliminated the ‘day-trip’ travellers.

There has never been a better time to invest.
